Only by obtaining the key to the handcuffs and fumbling to unlock them could I tear open the plastic bag. But how long could the air inside the bag sustain me? This challenge sounded both terrifying and exhilarating; I felt a mix of excitement and fear! Before the challenge, I went through three rounds of static warm-ups. This was to familiarize myself with the feeling of wearing handcuffs and locate the keyhole, and was also to gauge how long the air inside the bag could be breathed. The results were promising: I lasted about three minutes in the first two attempts, and in the third time, with a little push, I approached nearly four minutes. Should be enough time for me to unlock the handcuffs, right? The challenge began! In the first round, the key to the handcuffs was placed on the corner of a table. Wasn’t this a bit too easy? Carefully stepping ahead, turning, half crouching, I touched the corner of the table with my hands behind my back, and then I found the key. Unlocking was not a difficult task as I was already familiar with the keyhole position. So, after being sealed in the bag for two minutes, I freed myself. In the second round, the key was thrown on the ground, and I was directed to come over, sit down and search it. Darn, where’s the key? I seemed to have walked too far, and when I sat down, I inadvertently sat over the key. No wonder I couldn’t find it by searching the floor next to me. Time passed second by second, and the oxygen inside the bag diminished along with it. The difficulty of breathing increased gradually! I tiptoed, twisted my hands into a position convenient for searching on the handrail, searching up and down several times. Fortunately, I finally found the key, but it seemed to be stuck. After this moment, my stamina was almost exhausted, the oxygen inside the bag was almost depleted, and the pervasive carbon dioxide made me suffer. My body couldn’t hold on anymore; I could only slowly slide down against the glass wall of the stairs and sit on the ground. She was wearing a Japanese one-piece school swimsuit “sukumizu” with her hands tied behind her back and legs tied to a chair, and went through a long breathplay “marathon” consisting of four sessions. Session 1: Xiaoyu was wearing a swim cap, goggles and ear plugs. Her mouth was taped by transparent film dressing so that she can only breathe with her nose. Then I controlled her breath using a nose clip. The timing was based on an eight-round O2 table training, starting from 25 second apnea with 5 second increment until 60 seconds. Between each apnea she can breathe for 10 seconds only. Session 2: The nose clip was kept on her nose and a small hole was poked in the film dressing to allow Xiaoyu to breathe. A piece of black bondage tape was used to cover the small hole, and she was asked to speak the alphabet from A to Z before the black tape can be removed for a while. This was repeated in 10 minutes. Session 3: The swim cap is removed, and the hole in the film dressing was stretched bigger to make her breathe more easily. A plastic bag was used for breathplay. The bag was soft and often stuck to her face when she was inhaling, leaving her breathless even though there was still fresh air in the bag. This session was again for 10 minutes. Session 4: Another 10 minutes session, with the soft bag replaced by a breathplay hood without breathing holes. After several times she was pushed near her limit at the end, and she even moved the chair she bound to during her struggling. At the end of the video some chat is recorded. She was quite happy with the sessions and liked the breathplay hood much better than the soft bag.

This time there’s nearly no volume for rebreathing, but only narrow gaps creating high breathing resistance. Breathe in hard, Xiaomeng! Otherwise, you don’t have sufficient air to survive! Scene 1: Xiaomeng was wearing a latex hood with only nostril openings. A vintage oval diving mask was put on top of the hood covering her eyes and nose. As a result, the air supply was blocked. Only a tiny bit of air came through the gaps between the diving mask skirt and the latex hood. Scene 2: Xiaomeng was still in the same latex hood, and then her head was wrapped by cling film. Depending on how the cling film was stretched and how many layers it was applied, Xiaomeng had from small to smaller gaps to breathe. Scene 3: Xiaomeng change to a latex hood with openings at eyes, nostrils and mouth. An inflatable gag was fastened into her mouth. After multiple pumps the gag had been inflated so big that she can hardly breathe, not even through her nose. Scene 4: Finally, I decided to give her a little bit air to rebreathe. A silicon swim cap was put over her face, which formed a tiny air chamber. She can reuse this little air, but the gap between the swim cap and the latex hood was so small, and she was already so tired, that she didn’t have power to suck in any fresh air anymore from outside.
